Loveland is a city in Hamilton County, Ohio. Once a busy railroad town, Loveland is now a stop along the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Loveland, upon its initial creation was known as a summer destination for the wealthy featuring large houses. This gave Loveland the nickname “Little Switzerland of the Ohio Valley.” The town’s real growth came with the creation of the railroads. The Hillsboro and Cincinnati railroads were chartered in 1846, Loveland’s location was at the junction of the Little Miami Railroad. Although the railroads which once ran through the town are now defunct, Loveland continues to grow due to its proximity to Cincinnati.
