Franklin is a city in Warren county Ohio. The town sits on the Great Miami River which flows through the center. General William C. Shenck founded Franklin in 1796. The settlement was named for the great Philadelphian Benjamin Franklin and was incorporated as a city in 1951. The construction of the Miami and Erie Canal came through the city of Franklin. The addition of the I-75 corridor has lifted the businesses of the Franklin area. This drove traffic through the center of the city and led to many retailers establishing themselves in the area. Franklin is also home to Franklin Yards, a multi-user rail hub, it’s one of only a handful of such facilities in the state of Ohio.

Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce – The Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce strives to bring together all of the citizens and businesses of the Franklin Area. In 1947 the chamber was founded to encourage growth of the city and increase employment opportunities for its residents. Larry Rossman was the first Chamber president. He assisted the Chamber in creating the first ever master plan of the city. The chamber assists local businesses by offering network marketing, local events, and strategic business planning advice.

Franklin-Springboro Public Library – The Franklin-Springboro Public Library is a communal and educational resource for the people of Franklin, Ohio. The library is divided into two parts, one in Franklin Ohio and the other in Springboro. Franklin-Springboro holds many forms of traditional media such as books, encyclopedias and magazines but also a wealth of new media such as access to online resources, audio books and films. The library also hosts a number of community events for children teenagers and adults.

Franklin City Schools – The Franklin City Schools are the public school network in Franklin which represents the people of Franklin, Ohio. Among the schools in the district, some are: Franklin High School, Franklin Junior High School, Anthony Wayne Elementary School. The schools strive to bring out the best of every student in and out of the classroom.  The Franklin City Schools are very involved in the community providing care packages for services such as Veterans care packages, the “District Hashtag” and “Light Up The Night.”
