Clayton is a city in Miami and Montgomery counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The city has the name of John Clayton, a War of 1812 veteran. Clayton was platted in 1816 and at that time was known as Salem. It suffered when the National Road bypassed it. In 1906 it became a stop on the Dayton Northern Traction Line. It became a city in 1998 through merger with the rest of Randolph Township, Montgomery County, Ohio. Clayton has often times been held up as the exemplary “Middle America” and has been featured in works of fiction as such.

The Clayton Rotary Club – The Clayton  Rotary Club works every day to bring together the community and local businesses. This branch of Rotary International also stands by their slogan “Service Over Self” and meets regularly to discuss ways to improve the community and serve the vulnerable in Clayton. The Rotary Club of Clayton also engages in community events which involve participants in business and public life.

Clayton Soccer League – Clayton Soccer Association is dedicated in getting the children of Clayton to enjoy playing the game of Soccer as part of a well rounded and healthy life. The soccer association features a junior girls league and a boys league. They also feature travel teams for both boys and girls. The league also strives to introduce children to other sports.

Clayton Historical Society – The Clayton Historical Society assumes responsibility of collecting photos, information, articles, and related materials that pertain to the history and activities of those who lived in the rural areas of the township, now Clayton. The society are committed to seeing that historical items from this area are properly documented and preserved for future generations.
