Lebanon is a city within the Cincinnati metropolitan region and is the county seat of Warren County. Lebanon was laid out in 1802, and was named after the biblical Lebanon due to its abundance of Juniper or Eastern Redcedar trees. Famously, the town refused to be a home for the Shakers who then, according to legend, cursed the town. Today, Lebanon is largely known for its downtown destinations which include regional festivals and downtown shopping. The city is also known for having its own symphony and chorus. Lebanon is home to many notable people including Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon.
