West Chester is a township located north of Cincinnati and the southeast corner of Butler County. When the township first came into existence its name was “Union” although the citizens of the area referred to the area as “West Chester.” In July of 2000 the township was effectively changed from Union to West Chester due to its colloquial name as well as the fact that many townships in Ohio already go by the name of Union. West Chester is known for “The Square at Union Centre” which hosts the “Union Centre Boulevard Bash” annually and draws crowds of up to 30,000 people.
