Montgomery is a city in Hamilton County, Ohio settled in 1796. It remains one of the oldest settlements in Hamilton County, Ohio. A log cabin was the first building established in Montgomery. The town was named for a number of its original settlers who hailed from Montgomery, Ohio. Montgomery began as a coach stop on the Cincinnati-Zanesville Road later known as the Montgomery Pike. Originally fairly stark, the town began as just an inn, two taverns, a grist mill and a carding mill to process its agricultural products. Montgomery became an affluent suburb for commuters to Cincinnati in the 1960s. 19th century architecture is a staple of the Montgomery community.
